Which of the scenarios include only independent events?

A) Kia chooses a card from a standard deck of 52 cards. Kia chooses a second card without replacing the first card.
B) Mary is selecting baked potatoes at the grocery store. She chooses 1 potato puts it in her produce bag and then chooses a second one.
C) Craig chooses a ball from a bag with red, green and yellow balls. He marks the ball and then replaces it. He then chooses a second ball.
D) Michael and Lucy are team captains for dodge ball. Michael chooses a team member from a group of 20. Lucy then chooses a team member from the remaining 19.

The answer is C because he replaced the ball that he chose. to explain, both times he chose a ball had nothing to do with each other and did not affect the probability of the other. therefore, this problem includes only independent events.

Solution: Craig chooses a ball from a bag with red, green and yellow balls. He marks the ball and then replaces it. He then chooses a second ball. By replacing the ball, Craig creates circumstances that are identical for each event. Marking the ball does not affect the results.
