Bruce has a rope that is 21 feet long he needs to cut the rope into 1/5 long peices. How many strips can Bruce cut from his rope

pretty sure its 4. because 1/5 is .20 so 21 x .20 = 4.20
but you can't cut it into 4.20 pieces so 4

Bruce has a rope that is 21 feet long he needs to cut the rope into 1/5 long pieces.

The length of the rope = 21 feet

the length of each strip =
(1)/(5)

We need to cut the rope 21 feet into
(1)/(5) strips

To find the number of strips we divide 21 feet by the length of the strip


(21)/((1)/(5)) =
21 * (5)/(1) = 105

105 strips can Bruce cut from his rope.
