y=2x \\ewline y= x^(2) -3

Substitue 2x for y in the second equation:

2x= x^(2) -3

Rearrange to
a x^(2) +bx+c=0 form:

x^(2) -2x-3=0

Factor:

(x-3)(x+1)=0

Zeros are
x=3 and
x=-1

To find y-coordinates of pts of intersection, plug these x-values into first equation to get
y=-2 and
y=6
