How might a flood or a drought affect plants and animals

A drought could dry out and kill the plants living in the area, and the plant-eating population of animals would decrease. If so, the carnivorous(meat eating) animals would have little food to eat. A flood could disrupt the plant and animal living environment/ecosystem and cause the plant and animal population to decrease.
