Jessica took a mylar balloon outside on a very cold day. As she waited for the bus the balloon began to shrink. What is the best explanation of this?

As she filled the balloon up with air, the air, let’s say, was at room temperature and therefore was able to expand and fill the balloon. When air inside of the balloon was exposed to the cold air. The air molecules started to contract or come closer together. This causes the air to fill less area inside of the balloon and therefore making the balloon smaller.
