so if you have a 25 ft ladder and the window is 24 feet above the ground you only have one foot left of the ladder so you you could do it you would be able to reach the window.

The distance of the ladder should be 7 feet from the wall. Using the Pythagorean theorem we can determine the missing length, but a 7-24-25 triangle is a Pythagorean triple, so we don’t have to.
