Proteins are important for the structural and functional support of the body. The nucleic acid like deoxyribonucleic acid and ribonucleic acid plays a major role in carrying the information from one generation to another generation.

The cells of the body synthesize proteins by the instructions encoded in the DNA. It also helps in protein synthesis by ordering the type of protein to be synthesized.

hence, the nucleic acid and the proteins of the body are inter-related.
