the width is 16 so the length is 64 (TO clarify W=16)

Answer:

Area of a rectangle is given by:


A = lw ....[1]

where

l is the length

w is the width of the rectangle respectively.

As per the statement:

the length of a rectangle is four times its width.


l = 4w

It is also given that: area of rectangle is 1024 cm square

Substitute the given values in [1] we have;


1024=(4w)w


1024=4w^2

Divide both sides by 4 we have;


256 = w^2

or


w^2 =256

Taking square root both sides we have;


w = √(256) = 16 cm

Therefore, the width of the rectangle is, 16 cm
