How did the lives of americans change during the reconstruction?

life was much harder and made there lives change only for the worst. people began to starve from the lack of food. people had also been struggling to get water and shelter, causing many people to also die of dehydration. no one in america had been gaining what they needed to live as a normal human being.

less food, less water, barely any shelter, they didn't have what they needed to live practically.
