Let's say you have a rectangle. Because the fraction is 1/4, you would divide the box into 4 equal pieces. Each one is worth 4 fruits. If you shade in one of these equal pieces, you will find 4 peaches were used.

4 of her fruits were peaches, this is because 16 * ¹/₄ = 4.
