the first step to solving this expression is to factor out 2 from the expression
2 (4 - (n + 4) × (-3)²)
a negative base raised to an even power will equal a postive
2 (4 - (n + 4) × 3²)
evaluate the power
2 (4 - (n + 4) × 9)
distribute 9 through the parenthesis
2(4-(9n + 36))
when there is a "-" sign in front of the parenthesis,, change the sign of each term in the parenthesis
2(4 - 9n - 36)
calculate the difference between the two numbers
2(-32 - 9n)
this means that the correct answer to your question is 2(-32 - 9n).
