Combine like terms together

4 - 14 = -10

8x - 10 = -26

Isolate the x, do the opposite of PEMDAS. (Note, because of equal sign, what you do to one side you do to the other)

8x - 10 = -26

8x - 10 (+10) = -26 (+10)

8x = -26 + 10

8x = -16

8x/8 = -16/8

x = -16/8

x = -2

x = - 2 is your answer

hope this helps
