Explanation: A bakery opened in Montreal in the summer of 1995 and they started selling warm New York-style bagels, but the Montrealers were outraged, so Bagelville, the new shop, went out of business and closed its doors in less than a year. Montreal has a tradition of bagels since 1919 that is less dense, more chewable and smaller than the New York bagel.
