the answer is around 168.56

work :

the side of the square is 28 in


so the diameter of the circle is 28 in, too(look at the picture)

then the radius is 14 (28/2)


the area of the circle is

(14 * 14) * 3.14 = 615.44

the area of the square is

{28}^(2) = 784


so the area of the shaded region will be around:

784 - 615.44 = 168.56
