A scientist wants to produce a cow that makes a particular human protein in its milk. The desired protein causes blood to clot and can be used to treat hemophilia (a blood clotting disorder). Which of the following would be best for the scientist to use? A. selective breeding B. genetic crosses C. cloning D. genetic engineering

Answer:

the answer would be genetic engineering

Step-by-step explanation:

Genetic engineering can be used to manipulate DNA and create new organisms (known as transgenic organisms). In this case, the scientist would splice the gene for the human blood clotting protein into the cow cells that produce milk. Harvesting the milk would then allow the scientist to collect the human protein.

The answer would be: D. genetic engineering

Selective breeding will only result in better genetic of cows, it will produce better cow protein, but not human protein. Cloning only produce a same genetic cow, not a new one. genetic engineering will allow the scientist to insert a human gene into the cow, makes them able to synthesize human proteins.
