Let E for eva and J for jamir
24 + J = 56
56-24=32
so J = 32
24+32=56

24 + p = 56
Because we don’t know the value of p, and since the total amount of cookies is 56, and since Eva is said to have baked 24, this equation is logical.
The answer to p would be 56 - 24, which is equivalent to 32.
