Republicans- are voted by people who believe in a smaller government and more power to the states.
Democratic-
More power to government while spending less money on military and more on more important things such as social security, medicare, etc.

People vote for republicans because they agree what the candidate stands for same for the democrats usually they will have opposing views like gun control vs gun rights so Elections are COMPLETELY opinion based.
