2x+y=10
4x+7y=40
use the elimination property.
1st, -2(2x+y=10) to get :
-4x-2y=-20
4x+7y=40
5y=20
y=4
then plug back to one of the equations for ex: 4x+7(4)=40 then solve it
and x = 3 so the point is (3,4)

2x + y = 10 is y = -2x + 10
4x + 7 = 40
-7 -7
4x = 33
4 4
x = 8.25
y = -2(8.25) + 10
y = -6.5 and x = 8.25

Hope this helps :)
