Winds occur as a difference between the air pressure, the colder air with bigger density, thus weight, which is also lower air, is always moving towards the warmer air that has lesser density, thus weight and is a higher air. When this happens, the the colder air pushes the warmer air, so the air masses start moving, thus the winds are created.
