The Commission on Judicial Appointments
In the state of California, the Commission on Judicial Appointments is made up of the Chief Justice of California, the Attorney General of California, and a senior presiding justice of the California Court of Appeals.
Prior to review by the Commission on Judicial Appointments, there is also a group in California known as the California State Bar's Commission on Judicial Nominees, which reviews candidates' qualifications and provides their evaluation to the governor before he submits the nominations to the Commission on Judicial Appointments.
