Answer:

I would select Mother Teresa as a Person of Magnitude. What did Mother Teresa do? Mother Teresa founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic congregation of women dedicated to the poor, particularly to those in India, that opened numerous centres serving the blind, the aged, and the disabled. If you look at all her humanitarian efforts, her motivations are clear as day. She set up soup kitchens, a leper colony, orphanages, and a home for the dying destitute. She treated the lepers, educated the poorest of the poor, and fed the homeless. Mother Teresa created many homes for the dying and the unwanted from Calcutta to New York to Albania. She was one of the first to establish homes for AIDS victims. For more than 50 years, this courageous individual comforted the poor, the dying, and the unwanted around the world. Mother Teresa's accomplishments were that she was known for being a humanitarian and an advocate for the poor and helpless. She also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize in 1971, and the Nehru Prize for Promotion of International Peace and Understanding in 1972

I would select Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. as a Person of Magnitude. He fought for social justice for Negroes in America. He espoused non-violence. He based much of his information on the Bible which is the ultimate authority. His "I Have a Dream" speech was given in March, 1963.
