A farmers chicken lay 1,421 eggs a year. The farmer has 120 eggs cartons, each of which holds a dozen eggs. Will the farmer need all the egg cartons to package the eggs for the year? justify your answer using words, drawings, or numbers.

Multiply the 120 cartons by the dozen (12) spaces in the cartons. Then divide the 1,421 eggs by product of your multiplication. Any remainders are the eggs that will not fit into the cartons.

He will only need approximately 118 cartons
