From Snell's Law;
n₁sinθ₁ =n₂sinθ₂
Therefore; since the ray is travelling from ethanol to air, then n1 = 1.36 and
θ1 = 34, while n2= 1.00
(1.36) sin 34 = (1.00) sin θ₂
sin θ₂ = 0.7605
θ₂ = 49.50
≈ 49 °
The angle of refraction is therefore 49 degrees
