We are asked to find the rte of change for the interval between 2 and 6 on the x axis.

We have from definition rate of change of any function f(x) from a to b is

Rate of change =
(f(b)-f(a))/(b-a)

Here a =2 and b =6

The values of f for these points can be got from the graph.

f(6) =14 and f(2) = 2

f(6)-f(2) =14-2 =12

b-a=6-2=4

Hence rate of change =
(12)/(4) =3

Answer is 3
