One number is 3 more than 2 times the other, and their sum is 27. Find the numbers.

If x represents the smaller number, then the larger number is
3x + 2
2x + 3
2(x + 3)
Please look at the answer choices Thanks! And please hurry

Answer:

2(x+3) is the answer

The word after 2 is times and that means multiply and having the 2 outside the parenthesis is the only indication of multiplication

X represents One and directly after that is 3 more.More, in this case, means addition.

With both of those reasons 2(x+3) is the correct answer
