please answer this!!!!! Nancy hears a report that the average price of gasoline is $2.82. she averages the prices of stations near her home. she finds the average price of gas to be $3.03. why are the averages different?

the averages are different because gas stations set there own prices and averages are just a median of a grouping of prices and there may have been different grouping of gas stations in the report than there are near her home. Another reason, and a big one, is transportation of the fuel and oil pipeline locations in relevance to refineries being local or distant.
