Last year = $5.00
Increase = 5% of $5
Increase = 0.05 x 5
Increase = $0.25
This year = $5 + $0.25 = $5.25
1/2 mile = $5.25
1 1/2 miles = $5.25 x 3
1 1/2 miles = $15.75
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: She earns $15.75 to walk a dog for 1 1/2 miles.
