I'm having trouble with this quesion in my World History class. I hope you could help me :)

How did world events (French and Haitian Revolutions, impressments, piracy, etc.) affect the relationship between the United States, France, and Great Britain during this time? How did the Presidents (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison) handle these events?
