answer: 44

solution: x+(x+2)+(x+4)+(x+6)+(x+8)=200
5x+20=200
5x=180
x=36
5th number - x+8=36+8=44

Answer:

44

Explanation:

In order to solve this you just have to consider the first even number: 2x, because X could be an uneven number, but once you multiply it by 2 you make sure you are representing an even number. So there are 5 consecutive even numbers:

First number: 2x

Second number: 2x+2

Third number: 2x+4

Fourth number: 2x+6

Fifth number: 2x+8

So the equation would be:

2x+2x+2x+2x+2x+2+4+6+8=200

10x+20=200

10x=180

x=18

In order to calculate the fifth number we just insert the value of X into the fifth number equation:

2x+8

2(18)+8

36+8=44

The fifth number will be 44.
