A picnic table was marked up 165% from an original cost of $200. Last Friday, Suzie bought the picnic table and paid an additional 10% in sales tax. What was her total cost?

if it was marked up 100%, it would be $400, so we need to find out what 65% of 200 is and add it to 400. 65% of 200 is double 65% of 100, so 65*2=130. 400+130= $530 as the new price. this sales tax would be 10% of the NEW price, so we need to find 10% of 530. 530 divided by 10 is 53, now we need to add it to the new price. 530 + 53 = $583.
