The answer is hypernatremia. Common early symptoms attributed to this condition include a strong feeling of thirst, weakness, nausea, and loss of appetite. Normal serum sodium levels should range between 135 – 145 mmol/L. Hyperaldosteronism (increased production of aldosterone) may be the underlying cause of the condition.
