Area of the whole rectangle = 14 x 34 = 476 unit²

Area of the two semicircle = 2 x (1/2 π (7)²) = 153.94 unit²

Area of the shaded region = 476 - 153.94 = 322.06 unit²

Answer: Area of the shaded region is 322.06 unit².

First you would find the area of the rectangle; 34 • 14 = 476. Then you find the area of the semicircles. To make things easier you can put them together to make a circle and use the formula pi • r^2. So the equation would be set up as 3.14 • 7^2. I used 7 because the diameter is 14 and the radius is half of that. So the answer to that is 153.86. I’m not sure if you can round but in this case I won’t. So you would then subtract; 476 - 153.86 making the answer 322.14 units^2
