How does a butterfly fit into the cladogram of invertebrates

Butterflies are invertebrates since they are insects and they have an exoskeleton instead of an endoskeleton. Unlike vertebrates, butterflies do not have a spinal column. Rather, butterflies have internal strengthening structures to provide not only rigidity but also areas for muscle attachment. Moreover, as an arthropod, a butterfly is an invertebrate.
