first you want to apply what is outside of the parenthesis to the inside of the parenthesis. After applying you would get

7p-63=34.3

Next you wanna get the variable to one side and the whole numbers to the other side. to do this you add 63 to each side, you end up with

7p=28.8. Then you want to get p by itself. In order for this to happen you divide each side by 7 to get p=4.114285714
