Answer:

y = -4x + 4

Explanation:

Hello! So looking at the graph right away, we can immediately be able to calculate the slope of the line. This is rise over run or
(rise)/(run). In this case, we can take a simple point where the line passes (e.g. (3, -8)) and take another point (e.g. (1, 0)) and figure out how far it is.

To figure rise, we start from (1, 0) and go down until we reach (1, -8), so in this case the rise will be -8 units down.

To figure out run, we start from (1, -8) and move right to get to our goal of (3, -8) so the run will be 2 units right.

Now, we have the slope
-4 (this is -8/2 simplified)! From here, we can substitute one of the points (e.g (3, -8)) to solve for the b! And we get 4 for the b! To solve this faster, since b is considered the y intercept, just take a look at the y-axis and see where the line intercepts the y-axis and that is your b value.

ANSWER!!

Y=-4x+4

EXPLANATION!!

Y=mx+b

b=y-intercept (where the line touches y-axis)

m= slope

We can see the line crosses at +4 so we can plug that in to the equation

Y=mx+4

We then can see that the line is going down, so it’s negative.

Y=-mx+4

Now we find 2 points on the line where it exactly touches the point. We then count the boxes between going vertical then horizontal.
Slope= rise/run
or vertical # of boxes/horizontal # of boxes

We get 4/1 and we simplify to equal 4. We plug that in to the equation

Y=-4x+4
