6 +(9 -1)²/4×(1/2)⁴
= 6 +8²/4×(1/2)⁴ . . . . . . evaluate parentheses
= 6 +64/4×(1/16) . . . . . . evaluate exponents
= 6 +16×(1/16) . . . . . . . . perform multiplication and divison left to right
= 6 +1
= 7
