If you have homework or studying to do you could tell her you have to get it done or just say you have a lot of homework. Also you could say you were going to end up wanting to buy a lot of stuff your mom won’t like

Because going alone in the streets by yourself could be dangerous. You could get lost or you could be busy with important schoolwork. Also you might buy the wrong things.
