-4x+11y=15 what does x equal?

To solve for x, we simply try to isolate it by getting x on one side and dividing. The y-term might confuse us, but since we don't have another expression for y, we can only solve for x in terms of y.


-4x+11y=15\\-4x=15-11y\\\\x= (15-11y)/(4)
