Simplify the following:
3^3 + 3 (4 + 1/3)

Put 4 + 1/3 over the common denominator 3. 4 + 1/3 = (3×4)/3 + 1/3:
3^3 + 3 (3×4)/3 + 1/3

3×4 = 12:
3^3 + 3 (12/3 + 1/3)

12/3 + 1/3 = (12 + 1)/3:
3^3 + 3 (12 + 1)/3

12 + 1 = 13:
3^3 + 3×13/3

3×13/3 = (3×13)/3:
3^3 + (3×13)/3

(3×13)/3 = 3/3×13 = 13:
3^3 + 13

3^3 = 3×3^2:
3×3^2 + 13

3^2 = 9:
3×9 + 13

3×9 = 27:
27 + 13
