Aloha!
First, add $20 and $20 and $20 and $20 because of the one $20 bill and the two ten dollar bills.
Add the 10 quarters which is 2.50 and add 12 nickles 60 cents or .60 then add 2 pennies.
The answer is $83.12 cents.
Now divide that by 4 which is
20.78
So to answer your question:
20.78
is how much each charity would get.

So if there are 3 $20, 2 $10, 10 $0.25, 12 $0.05 and $.02, it would add up to $83.12. If he splits this money evenly into 4 groups, it would be 83.12/4, which is 41.56/2, which simplifies to $20.78 per charity! :)
