(21 + x) (21 - x) = 437
21² - x² = 437
441 - x² = 437
- x² = 437 - 441
- x² = -4
(-1)(-x²) = (-1)(-4)
x² = 4
So, x = 2

factor 437=19*23
Therefore (437)=19*23=(21-2)(21+2) => x=2
