If Tim earns $70, then substitute m = 70 into the equation :

So, Tim has $70, and Rebecca has $6 less than 1/10 of the total money that Tim has.
70 divided by 10 would be 7, then Rebecca has $6 less than the 1/10, which would conclude to Rebecca having $1.
Tim and Rebecca together have a total of $71!
