If a pear is cut into 1/3, a pear can cut into 3 slices .
1 pear = 3 slices
5 pears = 3 x 5
5 pears = 15 slices
Answer (a): 3 x 5 = 15
Number of 1/3 slices you can get from 5 pears:
5 ÷ 1/3 = 5 x 3 = 15
Answer (D) 5 ÷ 1/3 = 15

Kylie will have 15 pieces of pear to share. If she splits each pear into 3 slices and there are 5 pears, then 5*3 = 15 is your equation. The other equation is 5 / 1/3 = 15.
