Answer: (f - g)(x) = -x^2+4x+6

Work Shown:

(f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x)

(f - g)(x) = (4x+1) - (x^2-5)

(f - g)(x) = 4x+1 - x^2+5

(f - g)(x) = -x^2+4x+(1+5)

(f - g)(x) = -x^2+4x+6
