\\ \text{Given that a triangle with sides 40 feet, 50 feet, and 60 feet.}\\ \text{On a drawing, 1 inch = 10 feet}\\ \text{we need to find the length of the sides on the triangle on the drawing.}\\ \\ \text{observe that, 40 feet =4(10 feet) = 4(1 inch) = 4 inches}\\ \\ \text{similarly, for the side with 50 feet length, we have}\\ \\ 50\text{ feet =  5(10 feet) = 5(1 inch)= 5 inches}\\ \\ \text{and similarly, 60 feet =6(10 feet) = 6(1 inch) = 6 inches}

hence the length of the sides of the triangle on the drawing are: 4 inches, 5 inches and 6 inches
