all you have to do is add the amount of zeros that there are at the end of the numbers in the equation. example 10x10, is 100. it has 2 zeros at the end because thats how many both numbers have combined. so, since 1,000 has 3 zeros, you add those to the end of 1.1. since 1.1 is a decimal, addind 3 zeros would make it 1,100.
