We can convert to slope-intercept form, and whatever number is the coefficient of x will be the slope.
We subtract by 1/4x on both sides and get y = -1/4x + 5. So, the slope is -1/4.

Hope this helps!

y=-1/4x+5
slope is -1/4
y=ax+b
y=-1/4x+5
a=-1/4 , so -1/4 is slope
b=5, so b is y-intercept
