In Act IV, Scene 1 from Shakespeare's "Macbeth," the protagonist looks for the witches and insults the them by calling them hags - which is a manner of disparagement for a woman that means ugly, old witch. Nevertheless, he asks them what they are doing, and claims that they answer his questions, even though he does not know what actions they do to be able to see the future.
