If I have encounters very stressful events.
The diathesis-stress model is used by psychology to explain how stressful events in life can trigger the genetic predisposition to suffer a disorder.
In this case, Elton could trigger a disorder if he is faced with very stressful situations and does not have the tools to handle them.
