Mark is drawing the outside lines of a basketball court that is 74 feet by 42 feet. what is the total length of the line he will draw to surround the court

for this it is a perimeter problem. that means add up the lengths of all of the sides.

imagine a rectangle. one side, the long one, is measured 74 feet. the short side is measured at 42 feet. since there are two of each side you must multiply both 74 and 42 by 2 and add them together.


74 * 2 = 148

42 * 2 = 84
148 + 84 = 232
